As a fan of the more extreme side of cinema, I ask you to join me, as I explore the history of Cinema's most extreme movies with all the sex, violence and symbolism intact. I'm here to reflect on the extreme movies that have come and gone to see what they mean, se what makes them so extreme, and of course, see if they're any good.
I love extreme cinema, and I have spent many years collecting, exploring, comparing, learning from and studying these films: their effects, their intentions, what makes them good, what makes them bad and everything in between.
My intention for my blog - Exploring Extreme Cinema with Emrys - is to review a film with a professional, intelligent discourse as to why the film is either good, or bad, and I recommend them accordingly. I do this because a lot of these extreme films have become either forgotten to time, vilified by critics, unfairly judged or championed when they really shouldn't have been because the common public are blind to the multitude of fascinating films that lie below the line of 'mainstream'.
I want to open people up to the forgotten movies of yesteryear and the ones that fell from public eye, as well as taking a second look at the films that were held up as classics in their day in order to judge, reflect and review. That is my mission.
